How to Protect Trailer End Connector From the Weather

Question:

I am looking for a cover to protect the electrical connector on the trailer. Water has gotten into the connector and has caused damage requiring it to be rebuilt.Keeping it face down is only a partial solution as we live in the Northwest, where dampness is always a problem! We have tried electrical tape, but it doesnt stick when it rains. Same for duct tape and the adhesive is a bear to remove from the sides of the connector. Is there anything out there we can use to cover the trailer end of the electrical connector?

I looked through our product offerings and was honestly surprised when I saw we didn't offer a cover for a trailer connector. Since the tape didn't work for you, have you considered using some of that Press'n Seal plastic wrap? You could use a piece to cover the connector, and secure the wrap with the duct tape. That way, any tape residue would remain on the wrap and not the connector itself.
