Hitch Recommendation For a Recovered GMC Ambulance
Question:
Hi - Ive got a GMC 3500 based ambulance and am looking for a class IV / V hitch to tow a race car on an open trailer. Would a 3500 cab/chassis hitch work, or would I need to mount a universal style to accommodate the low ride height of the ambulance? Ive seen this done before and understand Ill have to have a cutout in the rear bumper for the hitch to pass through / mount an electrical connector Thanks!

I wish we had a custom fit hitch available that would fit your ambulance, but nothing we have is going to be a direct fit. The best recommendation I could make for you would be to take your ambulance to a qualified fabricator and let them fabricate the best possible solution.
I attached a link to a page that has all of the hitch fabrication parts we offer.
