Wire Harness Recommendation For 2006 Jeep Commander
Question:
I have purchased the trailer hitch for my base model 2006 jeep commander. Can you advise me on the proper wiring harness to use with the base model 2006 jeep commander with the 4.7L V8?

Helpful Expert Reply:
For a 2006 Jeep Commander with no 7-way connector, I recommend the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part # 118408. This harness easily connects to the vehicle wiring and requires no cutting or splicing into the wires. I have attached a link to an installation video for this harness you can check out.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
