Can 4 to 7-Way Trailer Connector Adapter Be Grounded to Trailer Frame Instead of Vehicle Frame
Question:
If I use 30717 can I ground the white wire to the trailer frame instead of the car frame? Thanks

Since the 4 to 7-Way adapter # 30717 is a vehicle side connector it will be mounted on the vehicle. Grounding it to the trailer frame would mean you would have to disconnect that ground every time you disconnected the trailer from the tow vehicle. The trailer side connector already has a main ground connection so this one needs to stay grounded to the vehicle side.
