Brake Controller Recommendation For 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Hello, I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado 3500 tandem and I want to purchase the TEKONSHA Prodigy® P3 Proportional Electric Brake Controller AND the correct pig tail for it and my truck. Could you please help me? Thanks.

The Tekonsha Prodigy P3, part # 90195, is a great brake controller, and is easy to install and use.

If your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Tandem has the Classic body style, the harness you can use to attach the brake controller is the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter, part # 3015-P.

If you do not have the factory trailer connector on your Classic, you will also need the Pollak 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket, part # HM40975.

If you have the New Body style, and have the factory installed tow package, there is not a harness available and you will need to hardwire the wires from the brake controller under the dash. I have attached a helpful article that explains how you install a brake controller on a 2007 Silverado New Body Style.

Below the steering column, you will need to find the bundle of wires located to the left of the brake pedal. Connect the wires from the brake controller in the following manner.

Tow Package Brake Controller Adapter

Red Black
Dark Blue Blue
Light Blue or Orange Red
White White
