What Cargo Carrier Will Provide the Most Ground Clearance
Question:
I have an older 89 conversion van. The type that is a mini camper. I attend craft fairs. I would like to carry a large rack system on one of your wonderful hitch racks, I would need to almost put my display rack up against the back doors of the van, as to tie them down using the luggage rack ladder and spare tire holder. How far out from the back of the van would the hitch rack sit? also, I am concerned about ground clearance. When I park my motor home, its sits uphill.... as I look at the back of my motor home, and try to envision a 24 inch extension... it looks like it would hit the ground! what would you recommend?

Some cargo carriers have a rise built into them to add some ground clearance. The Tow Ready 24x60 Cargo Carrier, part # 63153 has a 2-1/2 inch rise built into it. The carrier will extend about 39.25 inches out from your vehicle.
Anytime you add an accessory or carrier to a hitch, ground clearance can become an issue so be aware of your surroundings and that your carrier is on the back of the vehicle. Without knowing the weight and size of what you will be carrying I cannot make specific recommendations, but the solution is probably one of the above carriers.
