RV Rated Spare Tire Bike Rack Recommendation for an Aliner Camper Trailer

Question:

I have a 2015 aliner with the spare tire mounted on the rear. Could I put a spare tire bike rack on the spare without putting too much weight on it? Or would it be better to put a mount on the tongue? Is there a transfer bar that incorporates a bike mount?

There are no spare tire bike racks rated for an RV or camper spare tire. However, if your Aliner's bumper is rated for towing and/or carrying weight, we offer several bike rack options that are rated for use behind a camper. Take a look at the Swagman Around the Spare Mighty Rack, # S80501. This rack is designed to fit a 4 to 4-1/2 inch continuous welded square bumper and fit around the spare tire. I have included a link to the installation details and a video review for reference.

Another option is the RV Bumper 2 Bike Rack, # S80605, or Swagman 4 Bike Carrier RV Mounted Bike Rack, # S80600. These are platform style racks that fit the same bumper type and size as the above mentioned rack. I have included instruction links for both racks.

Another option is the Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk Trailer-Mounted Bike Carrier for A-Frame Trailers, # CC-275, that accepts a 2-inch hitch mount bike rack. You will need to consider the clearance required for your particular bikes and for any accessory items mounted to your trailer as these will have an effect on your turning radius.
