Assuming that your 1949 Pickup has a 2 inch hitch receiver, I personally recommend going with the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System, # RP66558, to use when towing your 1970 Rolite Travel Trailer. The Reese includes spring-bar hangers with integrated friction pads to help reduce sway. This system is very user friendly, easy to install, and comes with an adjustable shank that gives you the rise that you need for a level truck/trailer set-up.
Another great system is the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System with Sway Control, # RP66082. This Reese dual-cam sway-control system actually stops trailer sway before it begins. An adjustable shank is included with this system as well.
Both of the systems that I have recommend will require a hitch ball. We offer the 2 inch, # A-90, and the 2-5/16 inch, # 19286, that work with the Strait-Line and the 2 inch, # 63845, and 2-516 inch, # 63847, for the Steadi-Flex.
I have attached an article that you may what to check out. It gives some valuable information about weight distribution systems and the differences between them.
