Replacement Gears Recommendation For Venture Landing Gear On Fifth Wheel trailer

Question:

I have venture landing gear on my 2008 Cougar 5th wheel and the follower side will not lower. I have looked at the gears and I dont see any wear but seem to skip as they turn. Is this still a gear problem or is there something else wrong with the landing gear?

You can look inside the jack leg and see if the fixed nut is still in place. If it is then the Jack Repair Kit, part # LG-146060, should work well for you.

Both Venture and Stromberg Carlson landing gear are made by Lippert and most if not all parts are interchangeable.

If you find that the nut is damaged or has broken free, then you will need to replace the jack leg with part # LG-179013.
