Roadmaster Sterling Replacement Shank Availability for Older Roadmaster Sterling
Question:
I think I have a older Roadmaster Sterling Tow bar. We have replaced everything, bushings, springs, etc. All nice and tight now. I wanted to order a new shank but it appears that Roadmaster has changed it. The new Shank has a small head that fits into a U shaped connector. My Tow bar has a Shank that has a head that is wide and the U shaped connector is wide to fit it. Can you get the new connector or the older shank? Here is the one you sell. But I dont have the connector to make it work. See attached picture of mine. Thank you.

I spoke to my contact at Roadmaster and he informed me that there is no way to adapt your older style Roadmaster tow bar to the new stinger. If yours is still good and you were just looking to replace the stinger as preventative maintenance I would recommend you just keep using your tow bar as you replaced most of the components.
If the stinger wears out (or is worn out) the only solution would be to replace the entire tow bar as there is no way to adapt the new style stinger to your older one because the connection point you are looking for is not available.
The part number for the new Sterling would be part # RM-576.
