The 2-inch Class III trailer hitch receiver you referenced, Curt # C13144, is indeed a correct fit for your soon-to-be 2015 Forester (congrats on the new vehicle). This hitch offers a 3500-lb maximum gross trailer weight capacity. Two articles with hitch installation tips are linked for you.
Along with this you will need ball mounts, hitch balls, and pin and clip for towing. A simple cost-effective option is the etrailer ball mount kit # 989900 which includes two ball mounts of different heights, two hitch balls (both 1-7/8-inch and 2-inch), a pin and clip all in a handy bag.
You will also need a trailer wiring harness for your Forester so that its various lighting functions can be transmitted to the trailer's lights. The easiest option is a custom-fit harness # C56040 also from Curt. The linked video shows plug-in installation in a 2014 Subaru.
I have also linked a helpful article with basics on towing.
