hello I was inquiring about buying a 2 kayak carrying system for my 2012 gmc terrain. It currently has they factory side bars on the roof that run from down the top sides of the roof. What carrier do you recommend that would fit what i have

There are two ways you can go for transporting your 2 kayaks on your 2012 GMC Terrain with factory roof side rails. One way that is extremely cost-effective is to use foam block type carriers that do not require any sort of roof rack components; these can be seen on the link provided. This type of carrier cannot be locked but is very lightweight, meaning that more of your vehicle's roof weight capacity is available for the kayaks themselves.
If you'd rather use a J-style carrier like the Rhino-Rack Kayak Carrier # S510 that you referenced you will have to first install a roof rack system. Among the lowest-cost rack systems for your Terrain is the Malone system with square load bars, part # MPG201. Please refer to the installation video showing this rack in use. This and all other rack options for your Terrain are shown on the link provided.
Once this system is in place you can use any of the square-bar-compatible kayak carriers shown on the included link. You have options for single- and 2-kayak carriers. A useful accessory to consider is a tire step like # HE4040 or the Telesteps folding step # TE97FR which can help simplify the task of loading/unloading the kayaks.
You will want to consult your owner's manual for any guidance as to the Terrain's roof weight capacity. Keep in mind that the weight of the roof rack, the kayak carriers you choose and that of the kayaks themselves all together must remain within the vehicle's roof weight capacity.
