Testing Brake Magnets
Question:
Hi there, I called teknosha and they suggested that my magnets might be bad. I took the drums off and looked and they seem fine. This wont let me attach a picture but I took pictures if you wouldnt mind taking a look and giving me your professional opinion on if I should buy new magnets or try and troubleshoot elsewhere. Thanks!

I have attached a helpful article that explains how you can test your brake magnets to see if they need to be replaced. The article explains how you can perform 4 different tests to see if your magnets are working properly. You can use a digital multimeter like part # PT89ZR, to make sure you are getting the correct amperage.
Many times the cost of replacing the entire brake assembly is not much more than replacing the components such as the magnets.
