6-Way to 4-Way Trailer Adapter Does Not Work with 6-Way Connector on 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
If there is 5 wires at vehicle connector point and the T-1 connector has 6 wire output going to Modulite module will this have effect on the 4 pole to trailer output?I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with a 6 pole-round Pollack to trailer connect. I purchased the plug in adapter to the Pollack 6 pole-round and there was no output to the 4 pole connector. I am at a loss on what to do. Please advise.

If there are only 5 wires at the vehicle side connector, then that could affect the Curt T-Connector Harness, # C55369. We have not heard of any problems with this harness and the Jeep Grand Cherokee, so I recommend using a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993, to test the pins on the vehicle side connector for the appropriate functions. You should have one pin for each of the following functions ground, left turn signal, right turn signal, running lights, brake lights and constant 12v power.
If you are missing any of these functions, then the T-Connector harness may not work properly.
Since your 6-way to 4-way adapter did not work, I recommend testing your 6-way connector with the circuit tester. It may be possible that the adapter is not wired correctly to work with your 6-way. I have attached a diagram that shows the pin functions on a typical 6-way trailer connector. If the 6-way on your Jeep does not match the functions in the diagram, then that could explain why the adapter does not work. You could either rewire the 6-way on your Jeep to match the diagram or rewire the adapter to match your Jeep.
