Are all Relays Needed to Install Trailer Wiring # 118266 on a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

Question:

I recently purchased PT#118266 for my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder to upgrade from the 4 way blade harness that was installed to the 7 blade style. I prepared the jumper harness to install and there is no 12 pin connector in the kick panel. There is the factory trailer relay box attached to main relay box by the IPDM under the hood, however this relay box only has provision for 2 relays 1 brown and 1 blue The kit supplied has 2 x blue relays and 1 x brown relay. the questions I have are: Do I still need to install the second blue relay for the 7 pin plug to function correctly? and how do I do this?

Since the wiring is already run to your fuse block you would not need the jumper wires. What I would recommend you do is install everything you can and then use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the functionality of the 7-way. Or you could connect it to a trailer and see if all of the functions work.

Usually all of the relays are only needed on the Armada and Titan, and the Pathfinder does not need them all (or any sometimes).
