Landing Gear on 1996 Prowler 5th Wheel Cannot Take Weight of Trailer

Question:

The landing gear on our 5th wheel seems to be slipping. The motor and gear box seem to be working fine but the legs are slipping and wont take any weight. Will the repair kit fit this camper and do you think that will fix our issue.

Helpful Expert Reply:

If the motor and gear box on your Prowler's landing gear appear to be working properly but the jacks do not withstand the weight of the trailer, then it is likely that the main threaded screw that drives the inner portion of the leg is stripped. This part is not offered on its own.

If you have Stromberg-Carlson, Atwood or Lippert 3000-lb-rated landing gear you can replace the lead and follow legs and re-install your motor and cross-shaft using parts # LG-179013 and # LG-179014.
