Trailer Wiring to Allow Trailer Battery to Charge from Tow Vehicle
Question:
Hello, I was wondering if there was a cable that would plug into my 7 pin trailer connector then on the other end, isolate only the battery and the ground so the trailer battery could be charged with the battery tender? It is a pain to take the battery out which is why Im asking. Thank you for your time.

The Hopkins 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire Connector # H20046 could be used to connect your trailer's battery to your tow vehicle by using just the black (+12V) and white (ground) wires. However, the wiring in a tow vehicle cannot really deliver enough amperage to charge a trailer battery. These +12V feeds are intended to maintain a charged battery, but not to charge a depleted one.
Battery chargers such as the CTEK # CTEK56353 include several wiring harnesses one of which could be installed to your trailer battery and simply plug in to the charger when needed without need to pull the battery. Please refer to the linked video.
