Can Stabilizer Jack Be Used For Cargo Trailer Ramp Door
Question:
Hello last week we purchased a custom 2015 Lark 7x14 cargo trailer that has these stabilizer jacks installed already on it up under the back end. THANK YOU.....After seeing you video demonstration we finally learned what the two small silver rods are for......we had no idea, so good to know now! We will be using our trailer for college football games only.....yes I know sounds a little spoiled since there are only 6 home games a year....... but if the men are taking over our season tickets they promised to make us comfortable staying at the tailgate. We saw online where people with toy haulers are utilizing the ramp as additional living space and adding a screened in porch like addition. I would like to be able to lift my ramp so it is level so that we can better use that space while tailgating. Can I install a pair of these jacks in the top corners on the exterior of the ramp and then extend them to level the ramp? It seems easy enough to do but Im not sure? I know it wont look pretty on the exterior but thats ok too, do they come in silver color, chrome or aluminum or just black? If these wont work do you have any suggestions or something I can use. Thanks for your help!

The Domar Stabilizer Jack, part # TJ01RT, do have a weight capacity of 650 lbs. I spoke with my contact at Domar and they told me that these would be able to handle the 650 lbs at the point they were attached. If you have a lot of weight concentrated in the middle of the tail gate and these stabilizers are placed on the outside corners, the system may fail. Or if you place too much weight on one side of the tail gate versus the other side, you may have some problems.
These are available only in black and do not come in another color.
I do not know what the weight capacity of your tail gate is so I recommend contacting the manufacturer to see if they have a load limit the tail gate can handle.
