Which Base Plate Kit is Correct for a 2006 Honda Accord
Question:
Is part No. 1545-1 the right base plate for my 2006 Honda Accord?

Expert Reply:
Yes, the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, item # 1545-1 is the correct base plate kit for your 2006 Honda accord.
Along with the XL base plate kit you will need a tow bar and wiring for the towed vehicle taillights. With the XL base plate kit you can use any of the Roadmaster tow bars. If you will be towing frequently I would recommend the Falcon 2 or Falcon All Terrain, part # RM-520, # RM-522, because of the convenience they provide and if you will only be towing once or twice a year you could use the RoadMaster StowMaster, part # RM-501.
You will also need safety cables # RM-643. For lighting you can use the Magnetic Towing Light Kit, part # C-ATL20A.
And finally, most states now require supplemental braking on the vehicle being flat towed. One of the easiest systems to set up and use is the Even Brake proportional system # RM-9400. It will apply the Accord brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the easiest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
Be sure to consult your Accord owners manual for specific information on flat towing the vehicle. I have also included some helpful links to our series of help articles on flat towing for you.
