5th Wheel Round Tube Slider Trailer Hitch Installation On a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD
Question:
I want to buy this hitch and the custom rail kit with it, but a trailer business said the custom rail kit never lines up to the frame. I watched your video on the unit being installed and it looks fairly simple, I noticed they where using the existing holes in the frame, I looked at my veh and those holes where not there. I have a 2004 chevy silverado 25HD Duramax short box. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated

Along with the Curt A20 Slider item # C16541, you will need the Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Custom Installation Kit item # RP50064-58. The custom bracket installation will not require drilling through the frame on short box models but does require drilling two holes in the frame on long box models. There are two elongated holes in the frame rails that are used to secure the fifth-wheel installation brackets.
I have had no issues with this installation kit not lining up, and it makes the install much easier than the Universal installation Kit, item # RP30035, install. If you follow the directions closely before starting the installation and leave yourself plenty of time to complete the job, you will be glad that you used the custom installation kit.
