Which Trailer Tire Size Will Replace 155-12 Tires on a Baxley Motorcycle Trailer

Question:

I have a 2001 Baxley motorcycle trailer ,1200 lb load capacity , with 155 X 12 tires. 4x4 bolt pattern. What size do I replace them with? What about the Kenda 5.30 x 12 wheel/tire you sell?

A 155 is not a common trailer tire size. The closest match is going to be either a 145/80-12 or a 5.30-12 like you mentioned.

A 155 is going to be about 6.1 inches wide. A 145 will be 5.7 and a 5.30 will be 5.6 inches wide. The overall diameter of a 155 depends on the aspect ratio, the second number in the size, so a 145/80-12 has an aspect ratio of 80 percent. This means the overall diameter is 21.3 inches. On a 5.30 the overall diameter is 21.9 inches

If it were me, I would go with an AT145/80-12, # AM10130. This is a radial tire rated for 1,220 pounds at 65 psi. A radial tire would be better for driving on paved roads because it will track better and run cooler than a bias ply tire which is what all of the 5.30-12 tires we carry are.

The closest tire we have for a 12" rim to the overall diameter you're looking for is a 145/80-12 unit like Kenda Karrier # AM10140, which has a diameter of 21.3". We don't have anything larger available for a 12" wheel.
