Adapter to Convert Vehicle 4-Pole Flat Vehicle Connector to 7-Way RV-Style Trailer Connector
Question:
My vehicle 2005 Honda Pilot has a 4 pin trailer connector on it. I have one trailer with a 4 pin and I just purchased a pop up camper with a 7 pin. Do you have an adapter to go from a 4 pin to a 7 pin? Thanks for your help!

We do offer adapters to allow a vehicle with one type of connector (in this case a 4-pole) to connect to a trailer that uses a 7-way RV-type blade connector. TowReady offers their # 30717 which includes a 4-pole flat connector that will plug in to your vehicle harness and a surface-mount 7-way connector intended to accept the 7-way plug on your pop-up.
If you prefer a bracket-mount connector you can instead use # C57674 from Curt, which includes a mounting bracket for the 7-way and also which allows you to retain the option of 4-pole connection along with the 7-way, all in one unit. This is a great option if you want to keep your towing capabilities flexible. This part also includes test lights to help you verify proper operation of the trailer wiring.
I have linked a video on this item as well as an article on trailer wiring and connectors for your reference.
Please note that if your pop-up has brakes you will need to complete additional wiring to allow them to operate. The adapter will convert the connector type but does not add any additional functions such as power for trailer brakes, 12V battery charge or reverse lights. These functions can be added via the extra wire leads on this item.
