Troubleshooting Trailer Turn Signals After Installing Curt Wiring Harness C56332

Question:

Recently purchased a Curt wiring harness from your company to fit a 2015 Kia Sorento. Installed the Curt converter, everything seemed to work okay for about a week. This weekend I was informed my trailer lights were not working properly. I check out everything and found that the right turn signal entering the converter box is blinking however, the signal out is constant, i.e., not flashing but is constantly on when the right turn signal is turn on. Is this a defective converter box? Please advise.

I see that you referenced Curt T-Connector Wiring Harness # C56332, which is a fit for various model years and versions of the Kia Sorento with the factory tow package, but I was not able to find your order history for this item.

The issue with the right turn signal staying on continuously could be caused by a defective converter box. Since you confirmed that the input-side wire is carrying the correct on-and-off blinking signal, and since this harness is a plug-in type that does not require you to splice wires, it is indeed possible that the converter is defective. If you have confirmed that all other lighting functions are operating properly then its likely that the converter is indeed bad and requires replacement.
