Installing a Brake Controller on a 2007 Chevy Avalanche

Question:

Of course I had to connect the terminal wires under the hood. I ran a couple of inline 20amp fuses, before I noted that it needed to be routed through the fuse block. Is this an issue? The only item I noted and was concerned with is that the light in the manual overide brake switch stays on... I dont want to have an issue with the battery running down.. If it is an LED light then the amp draw will be so low, I dont think it will really affect anything. If I do have to run it through the fuse block will I also have to run the wire from the terminal to the block or is the power supplied directly to the block in other words if you switch the ingnition off the power to the fuse block is interupted. IF I have to run it through the fuse block do you have a video that demonstrates how to gain access to the rear of the block and how to terminate the wires into the block..

Adding additional fuses will not hurt anything, worst case scenario you will have more things to check in the event of a short and one of the fuses blows. All you need to do to install your controller is connect the wires of the controller to the 4 wires under you dash and then connect the wire by your fuse box to the correct terminal and you would be good to go. See the attached FAQ article I attached.

The LED that stays on will not drain your battery. The draw is so low that it would not deplete your battery at all. After several minutes of inactivity it should turn off.

To see an install video for a brake controller on a similar Avalanche as yours check out the link I attached.
