Installing Hopkins Brake Controller On 2012 Dodge Ram Pickup

Question:

I have a Hopkins break controller but I can not find the quick connect harness for it. The wires coming from the truck connecter are yellow with red stripe green white with purple strip black with green stripe. I need to know what these go to so I can splice them to the brake controller.

If your 2012 Dodge Ram has either a factory 7-Way or factory 4-Way, the correct wiring adapter is # HM53015. This adapter plugs into the 4-pin connector located under the left side of the dash on trucks with a built-in brake control wiring harness. The connector could be taped to another wiring harness near the emergency brake pedal.

The other end has blunt cut wires that will attach color for color to the Hopkins brake controller.

If your 2012 Dodge Ram does not have any type of trailer connector you will first need to add a 4-Way, part # 119178KIT, and then install the universal 4 and 7 Way Installation Kit, part # ETBC7. The # ETBC7 will provide the wiring you will need to hardwire your Hopkins brake controller.
