The etrailer 24x60 Steel Cargo Carrier # e98874 that you referenced fits 2-inch hitches such as that offered for your Explorer and on the 2011 Ford Expedition shown in the linked video.
You can take a simple measurement of your Explorer to determine the fit of this carrier (or any other hitch-mount accessory) on your vehicle. Simply measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the rear-most portion of the vehicle (the rear bumper cover). This is the amount of clearance you need from a hitch-mount accessory.
The etrailer Cargo Carrier # e98874 provides 9-1\2-inches of clearance from the hitch pin hole when folded up and 19-1/2-inches when in the down position; the Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier # C18151 provides 9-inches of clearance when folded up.
If your loaded cargo blocks your vehicle tail lights you may need a lighting kit # e98943-44LED to keep your vehicle visible to other motorists. To lock the carrier to your hitch you can use # e98880 from Dead Bolt.
Do note that you need to observe the weight capacity of not only the basket you use, but also of your hitch and vehicle. The cargo baskets themselves may have a weight capacity higher than that of your hitch and vehicle; whenever components have different capacities you must observe the limit for the lowest-rated item. All of the hitches we offer for your Explorer have a 400-lb tongue weight limit; this means that the most cargo weight you can load is that figure minus the weight of the carrier itself
(400 - 48 = 352-lbs of cargo capacity). Check your vehicle owner's manual for any other guidance about tongue weight capacity.
