No Left-Side Trailer Turn Signals on 7-Way Socket
Question:
The yellow wire which controls the drivers side signals etc on the trailer does not work. I have traced it back into the truck wiring harness and it is dead there. The truck lights work fine. Is there a fuse which would control the yellow tow package lights on that side only. It is a 7 pole plug.

Expert Reply:
It is possible that there are separate left- and right-side tow package fuses on your vehicle. You will need to check your power distribution box to see if there are either missing or blown fuses.
Please note that the part you referenced, Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring # 118242, will not work with a factory 7-pole harness; it can only be used with a factory 4-pole harness. It will not work on Super Duty trucks; for a SD truck you need to use # 118243.
