After Installing Trailer Wiring Harness on 2013 Chevy Traverse Trailer Lights Do Not Come On

Question:

i bought the t-one harness part # C56181 . installed it exactly like you instructed. i connected it to the trailer that also has a new harness that is 100 compatible to the t-one. nothing happand. trailer lights did not come on. however, there is one thing that confused me. your instructions said to connect the yellow wire to the positive post, which i did. the instructions on the paper said to connect it to the negative post which was not available in view. what did i do wrong? another thing i forgot to mention, i squeezed the white grounding wire for the back in between two flat sheets of metale because i couldnt drill a hole with my drill. it looks pretty snug, but the washer is not completely touching the metle. i dont know if that has to do with it.

The ground is likely not sufficient so you will need to either locate an existing ground location or borrow a drill from someone to make a hole for the screw for the ground.

The yellow wire should be attached to the positive battery terminal. Otherwise it would not get any power! Make sure that the fuse is installed in the fuse holder and that it is not blown.

You will also need to make sure that the trailer side harness is properly grounded to a corrosion free bare metal surface. I have included some links that should also help troubleshoot further if needed.
