Wiring a 1987 BMW 5-Series for Towing

Question:

My car has the signal and tail lights on the same wire, so I was thinking I would use the Brown 4-flat for the brake. Sound ok or do I need a converter?

If your BMW has amber colored turn signal (according to my information, it does) you will need a converter. I would recommend the Hardwired Tail Light Converter, part # C59236.

The converter will combine the separate brake light signal and turn signal onto the same circuit, like your trailer is wired. There will be one circuit for the drivers side and one for the passenger. The converter kit includes a circuit tester, to help locate the correct circuits to install the converter.
