Will Thule Snow Chains Damage the ABS or the Suspensions System Behind the Tire
Question:
Im looking into getting some chains for an 05 Tourareg. Are they likely to damage the ABS or TPS?? I should have enough clearance to run them but was wondering if there is a likelyhood of damaging something in behind the tires. If you could give some insight into that, that would be fantastic.

The tire chains will not be able to damage the ABS or anything behind the tire. The chains are tensioned on the tire and will not go anywhere. As long as the chains are installed properly, and you have enough clearance in the wheel, the chains should not hurt anything. When the chains are installed properly, they are tensioned down pretty tightly and will not move around and provided you have adequate clearance they will not rub on anything behind the tire.
