Recommendation to Carry Bikes with a 2014 Nissan Altima that Does Not Require Heat Sheild Removal

Question:

i have a 2014 nissan altima 2.5 s. i need a receiver hitch mount to accommodate my bike rack from my previous vehicle..... so far everything ive seen available requires drilling out holes and permanently removing the heat shields. all of which i checked with nissan is going to void my warranty. i need a hitch, but dont want to damage my new car or void my warranty..... suggestions????

Since installing a hitch would require you to void the warranty of your 2014 Nissan Altima, the best option I could recommend for you to carry bikes with your vehicle would be to use a trunk mounted bike rack.

The best trunk rack we offer that is also confirmed to fit your vehicle would be the Thule OutWay part # TH45JV. The OutWay includes a number of advanced features, it is by far the easiest to install and remove, and includes locks for both the rack and the bikes to deter theft. This carrier supports up to 33 pounds per bike and the arms fold when not in use.

If you plan on carrying any women's or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Thule Bike Adapter Bar # TH982XT to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also. This will allow the bikes to be carried more level and will provide more ground clearance.
