Brake Controller Install Video for a 2014 Toyota Highlander
Question:
Has anyone done the 2014 Highlander ? Hoping for a new video Also I would like to have the under-dash plug the one that would plug into the controller, Tekonsha just fastened and then plug into it with a extension that would then go to the controller that I will mound on velcro. The idea is to take the controller in and out of the vehicle. Is there a extension probably 24 cord you sell, it would have amale end to plug into one end and then a female end to plug into the controller.

We have installed the Brake Controller Installation Kit part # ETBC7 on a 2013 Toyota Highlander which is the same generation as your 2014. Check out the video I attached that details the install.
You would not want to use velcro to install a proportional controller. The movement would cause erratic braking performance since the controllers sence inertia changes to apply the correct braking power.
I have a solution for you though. For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This controller has an included mounting bracket that would allow you to easily remove and install the controller. The harness on the back of the controller is easily unplugged to allow you to remove it as well.
