How to Pick Out Replacement Hubs for a 1980 Shore Landr Trailer
Question:
I have a 1980 shore landr trailer and i am looking to basically rebuild the guts of the wheels. I am trying to order all the parts before i take it apart but the problem i am running into is i cannot find them!? my current hub has the markings of DICO 15638 but that number has become a dead end. i have contacted shore landr and they emailed me blow up pictures of my trailer and there is no brake info on there. the only thing im about 100 sure about is they are 10inch brakes. so basically i need to know can i just order the correct lug pattern hub that includes the seals and bearings? are bearings/races/seals specific to the hub or to the spindle? or both?

In order to pick out the correct hub assembly for a trailer you are going to need know a few key pieces of information. The first thing you will need to know is the bolt pattern of your hubs. This is so you get a hub that is compatible with your wheels. I attached an FAQ article on determining bolt pattern for you to check out.
Next thing you will need to know is what spindle you have on your trailer. In order to do that you can either get the inner and outer bearing numbers from a hub or use a dial caliper to get exact measurements of the spindle. The measurements needed are the parts of the spindle where the bearings ride.
If you get back to me with that information I will help you pick out the right hub assemblies.
I attached a link to a page that has all of the 10 inch hub drums we carry.
