Sway Control Bar for 15-Foot Serro Scotty Travel Trailer Weighing 2700-lbs Fully Loaded
Question:
Hi! I am looking at acquiring a sway bar for my 15foot Serro Scotty travel trailer. It weighs 1660 lbs empty and will probably be 2700 lbs when packed. I would very much appreciate being pointed in the right direction for a sway bar that would fit this trailer. Please let me know if you need any additional info! Am ready to purchase ASAP.

Sway control bars are available as stand-alone components or as part of a weight distribution system that has sway-control built-in. A weight distribution system is called for when trailer weight reaches or exceeds half of the tow vehicle's weight. Since I do not know your tow vehicle I suggest you evaluate this idea once you confirm your tow vehicle's weight.
For a stand-alone anti-sway kit you might consider the ProSeries # 83660. This includes an adjustable friction-type sway control arm, ball plate (for the Scotty's frame), ball and hardware. You'll just need to add either bracket # RP26003 for 2-inch ball mounts or # RP26005 for 1-1/4-inch ball mounts. I have lined a video showing installation of this system.
In case you determine that you'd benefit from weight distribution as well I have linked you to an article that explains these systems. If you wish to tell me about your tow vehicle I will be happy to make a recommendation for a weight distribution system that includes sway control.
