Information About Weight Distribution And Sway Control For Towing Multiple Trailers
Question:
Im looking for information about picking a weight distribution hitch. Is there cons or pros for picking a higher rated one over a lower rated one. My thing is I tow multiple trailers and would like to just get one for all of them no matter on the weight of the trailer/tongue.

It is recommended to use a weight distribution system when your fully loaded ready-to-tow trailer weighs more than 50 percent of your towing vehicle. This helps keep the load even when towing and reduces stress on both the trailer suspension and the towing vehicle suspension. Weight distribution systems are designed to fit a range of tongue weights and are designed for a maximum towing capacity. Since you said you are towing multiple trailers, you will want to make sure they system you decide to choose can work with all of your trailers.
Normally, a weight distribution system with sway control is recommended because it will give you a more smooth, even ride, but will also stop sway caused by crosswinds or poor loading or placing too much weight toward the rear of the trailer.
I have attached a helpful article that explains what weight distribution is, how it works, and what is needed when you decide to add a system. I have also attached a helpful article that shows how to determine tongue weight you can also check out.
