Troubleshooting Titan BrakeRite EHB Electric-Hydraulic Disc Brake Actuator # T4813102
Question:
I noticed after a 2 years of no issues my Titan brake system did not work , thought it was controller, so I used to the break away batterys to test it,, and using a 12 volt battery hooked up to system pulled brake away plug, sytem ran and pumped up, I immediatley unhooked, battery,,with in fraction of second, but brakes were locked up, I could not release until I bled brakes , OK,, dont want to do that again,, so had neighbor try his new truck and controller , still nothing, is there a fuse in the Titan pump that may have blown,, on its circuit board, is there a proper testing method,, does it need steady power to release brake solenoid ?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Titan BrakeRite I Plug and Play Electric-Hydraulic Actuator Kit # T4813102 should not continue to apply hydraulic pressure after its 12-volt power feed has been cut. It might take a bit of time for the hydraulic pressure to fade completely but certainly the disc brake calipers should eventually relax their grip.
My contact at Titan has provided me with the correct testing procedure for this unit; this will be sent to you in a separate email.
