Components Required for Flat-Towing a 2004 Jeep Wrangler

Question:

Before I purchase both items, do you have instructions on how to wire in the bargman round 6 pin connector code 50-86-007 on a 2004 jeep wrangler? This is my tow vehicle behind my RV. Also I have a roadmaster sterling tow bar with brackets including part # 1016-1 but Im assuming i need vehicle specific reciever for this set up ? Correct Bracket is 1424-1 ?

The Roadmaster Base Plate Kit # RM-521424-5 is a correct fit for your 2004 Jeep Wrangler if it has a double-tube bumper. These base plates are directly compatible with your Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bar # RM-576; you do not need the Demco adapter you referenced.

The other base plate kit you referenced, Roadmaster # 1016-1, will not fit your Wrangler; this is intended for a Suzuki XL-7.

The Bargman 6-Way Super Sealed Connector with Cable # 50-86-007 will wire to your tow bar wiring kit according to the pin-out diagram shown in the linked article on wiring. The connector's yellow (left turn), brown (running lights) and green (right turn) wires will handle lighting functions for your dinghy; white wire is ground. You will not need to connect the blue wire and the red wire will need to be connected only if you need 12V power.

I suggest you review the linked article on flat towing that covers all of the items needed for safe and legal flat towing.
