Will Using a Bike Adapter Bar Scratch the Handlebar or Seat Post on a Bike

Question:

If I use the adapter, will the bike rattle during the drive and scratch the handle bar / seat post? Thanks

There is always a possibility of scratches occurring on a bike when using an adapter bar such as # Y02531. However most hanging racks have anti-sway cradles to limit movement of the bikes during travel. I use a similar bar and have not had any problems. But the bikes I carry have regular steel frames, nothing fancy like carbon.

For carbon frames I advise a platform style bike rack such as the Kuat Transfer V2 # KU74FR. This rack holds the bikes at the tires, not the frame, and have minimum contact with the rims.
