Spare Wheel/Tire Recommendation For Boat Trailer

Question:

I just need a spare tire and wheel for my boat trailer. My current size is P205 70 14R. Its a 5 lug and I think its 4 1/2. I measured skipping a bolt from center to center. Can you tell me what options in size I have? Can I buy a 15inch tire? What is the least expensive option for a spare tire?

The tire you described as P205/70/14R is actually designed to be a car or light duty truck tire. Typically, tires for a boat trailer will have ST listed meaning 'Special Trailer'.

We have several wheel/tire combinations you can choose from. I have attached a helpful article that explains how to measure the wheel bolt pattern on your trailer for a spare. We do not have a ST205/70R14 tire available but the ST205/75R14 may work well for you. It measures 26.3 inches diameter when inflated so if this will work for your trailer then I would recommend an ST205/75R14 tire.

If you find that you have a 5 on 4-1/2 wheel lug pattern and you determine you have the room, I recommend part # AM32153. This is a Karrier Load Range C tire radial tire with a white powder coated steel wheel.
