Will the Draw-Tite Class II Trailer Hitch # 36426 Fit a 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP with Dual Exhaust

I want to install a hitch on my 2006 Pontiac g6 gtp and it has a dual exaust. I saw a review that said etrailer gave good instructions and was wondering the easiest way to do it.

According to my contact at Draw-Tite, the Draw-Tite Class II Trailer Hitch, # 36426, will fit your 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP with dual exhaust. We have not had a chance to install this hitch on a G6 with dual exhaust yet, but the installation should be pretty straight forward. The hitch bolts to the vehicle frame just above the exhaust outlets.

I can tell you that we find it much easier to install a trailer hitch on a vehicle with dual exhaust when the exhaust is lowered. The exhaust is held in place with rubber isolators on each side of the muffler. Lowering the exhaust may not be required, but it may be easier to bolt the hitch in place.

I have attached a link to the installation instructions as well as an installation video on a 2008 G6. This vehicle does not have the dual exhaust, but it will give you a good idea on what is involved for the installation.
