5th Wheel Slider Hitch with Pivoting Head for 2014 GMC 2500 Short Bed with Reese Custom Rails

Question:

I currently have a 2014 GMC 2500 HD short bed with a 2001 Husky 15k slider hitch installed. I cant replace the head on this older unit with a newer one that is a four way pivoting head. So what I would like to know is that since the centerline on my two rails 22inch apart at the front and back pin points what are some choices that I would have for replacement of this Husky unit to a new slider unit with a four way pivoting head without having to remove and drill new holes in the bed to remount my rails that are currently there. If I remember correctly I used the Reese RP50066-58 bed rail installation kit initially. I think that covers it, thanks.

My personal recommendation would be to go with the Reese Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch with Square Tube Slider, # RP30051. This economical hitch offers a 4-way-pivoting head and will work with your current Reese Custom Base Rails, # RP50066-58.

If you prefer to stick with the Husky brand, the Silver Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Glider, # HT31326-31196, would be a great option. The single piece jaw wraps around the king pin to provide excellent jaw-to-king pin contact for less rattle and chucking. This hitch is also compatible with your existing rails.
