Winch Recommendation for a 1998 Rockwood Pop Up Camper
Question:
I am looking to replace the electric worn out winch on my pop up camper with a manual winch. Looking for an economical option to sell pop up. The old winch is in a capped area of the frame just behind the hitch and jack. There is a whole for an extension handle to fit through on the side of the frame to connect to the winch when manual was needed. I would like something that was similar in a manual maybe automatic breaking winch. The extension goes in maybe 3-4 inches and sticks out maybe 2-3 inches for turning of the handle. The camper top is a larger 10 foot box and is raised by the cable maybe 5 feet.

For an economical brake winch that should work well on your pop up camper trailer as long as it would fit in the boxed area of your trailer frame I would recommend the Fulton Hand Winch # F142007. This winch should work well as a replacement for your trailer, I attached a review video for you to check out. You may find that you would have to mount the winch on top of the frame instead of inside it.
Otherwise, your best option would be to find the exact model you have on your trailer frame and buy that model since you know it will work.
