4-Pole Wiring Harness for 1987 El Camino
Question:
I have a 1987 El Camino Base Model and I want to rig it for trailer lights, but all I find are the universal, splice-in kits. The car has a separate harness for the rear that plugs in just behind the drivers side rear wheel - Round plug, 4 vertical prongs and one horizontal. This looks like a fairly standard connector so Im surprised not to find a T-kit labeled for this vehicle. Any help? I really dont want to splice into the harness if I can avoid it.

The only trailer wiring that has been confirmed to work with your 1987 Chevrolet El Camino, is a hardwire connector kit like the Draw-Tite 4-Pole Hardwire Kit, # 18252.
We do not have a plug in style that has been confirmed to work with your vehicle. Although the connector for another vehicle may look very similar, it has not been tested for use on the El Camino so there would be no guarantee that a it would work for you.
