Replacement Air Ride or Sidewinder Pin Box for Lippert 1621  

Question:

My 5th wheel. No identification on pin box. But did all your measurements. I seem to have a Lippert 1621. My rv is 12000 empty, 14000 gvw, 1800 pin wieght empty, Is Trailair to duty for my lighter 5th wheel?

The # LC328492 Trail Air Flex Air Air Ride Pin Box you mentioned is not an extended pin box. When installed, the center king pin to first row of bolt holes in the turret would be right at 17-3/4 inches, as you can see in the provided diagram. I've also shown the bolt hole spacing so you can compare it to your existing pin box.

If you're looking for some extension to provide additional distance between the front of the trailer loft and the rear of the truck cab, you'd want to use a Sidewinder replacement pin box like # RP34FR or # RP61422, which is the air ride version. Both pin boxes have a 16K capacity, which would be just fine for your fifth wheel.

The Sidewinder moves the pivot point between the hitch and the 5th wheel 22 inches rearward, creating more clearance between the cab and the fifth wheel so you can execute turns without worrying about the front of the trailer loft contacting the rear of the truck cab.
