Stop Light Wire Connection On 2004 Saturn Vue When Installing 4-Way Connector
Question:
I just purchased several items from you guys, thanks for the FAST shipping! My question is regarding wiring the C56175 to my 2004 Vue. The Vue has green, yellow, brown, blue, black. The C56175 has green, yellow, brown, red, white. green goes green right turn yellow goes yellow left turn brown goes brown tail white goes black or to body for ground So...do I splice red stop/brake on the C56175 to blue on the Vue...or do nothing and leave the red/blue combination un-spliced? I dont know if the 2004 Vue uses that blue for brake or for something else like reverse light. So Im making a guess that if the Vues brake lights are combined with green/yellow then I would leave the red on C56175 unhooked? The question...to splice or not to splice! Thanks!

You will need to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and test the wires you are using to connect the Curt Circuit Protected Converter w/ SMT, part # C56175. Although it is normally standard, auto manufacturers can use different color wires for any of their circuits, which is why we always suggest testing the wires by function and not by color. The red wire should be connected to the wire that shows current when the brake pedal is pressed.
