How do I know that my Ford Van Aerostar 1989 is extended or standard ?

It actually does not matter if your 1989 Ford Aerostar is extended or standard because Curt trailer hitch # C13032 actually fits both styles. I have linked the installation instructions for you. But to answer your question the standard models were 174.9 inches long and the extended models were 190.3 inches long. The extended models may have not started until the 1990 model year.
If you plan on doing some towing I recommend our ball mount kit # 989900. And for trailer wiring use # 119178KIT. I have linked the instructions for the wiring as well.
