Will Older Reese Signature Series 16k Slider Work with Reese # RP30154 Adapter on 2014 Dodge Ram

I have a signature series Reese 16k slider that I want to use on my 2014 dodge 2500 short bed megacab. Will this work?

According to my contact at Reese the Elite and Signature Series 5th wheel hitches are not compatible with their 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Ram OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package, part # RP30154. The only Reese sliders that will work with this Ram adapter are # RP30048, # RP30092 and # RP50024.
