Trailer Hitch Mount 4-Bike Bike Rack that Wont Interfere with Opening Hatch on a 2010 Honda Odyssey

Would you recommend this rack for a 2010 Honda Odyssey I Carry 2 Jr. Girls bike 1 Women s and 1 Mens will I be able to open rear door in the tilt back position?

Expert Reply:
First, it is not recommended on the Swagman Trailhead bike rack # S63380 to tilt it down with the bikes loaded. The rack was not designed for the additional stress. Although you would be able to open the rear hatch with the rack tilted down once the bikes are unloaded as shown in the video I have linked.
This rack would be a good option for women's bikes and bikes with alternative frames, but you would likely need to use bike adapter bars, such as # 64005, to carry the bikes on the rack.
If you have a 2" hitch on your Honda Odyssey, take a look at the Yakima FullSwing # Y02465. With this rack you can have the bikes loaded and the entire rack swings the bikes away and to the side so you can have full access to your hatch.
Since this is a 2-arm rack you are going to need to use the adapter bars to carry the bikes properly on the rack.
