Brake Controller Does Not Power On After Installation on 2007 New Body Chevy Silverado

Question:

I am just installing my brake controller and followed the instructions but dont seem to have power. No lights come on when you slide the manual control or when you touch the brakes. The truck didnt come with the fuse under the hood so I got one from local auto parts. Not sure where to start trouble shooting. I have basic knowledge of electrical and have a very good fluke meter.

On Chevy and GMC trucks like your 2007 New Body Silverado there can be some connections that will need to be made under the hood to make everything fully functional. I have included a link to a help article that explains the connections that need to be made under the hood.
