Hitch Extender Recommendation For 2004 Lexus GX470

Question:

Hi, I have a Thule 9029 and a 2004 Lexus GX470 with a pintle hitch receiver The problem is when I the Thule bike carrier, the screw is right under the bumper and its difficult to get it off to remove it. because its so close to the bumper. Is there an extender so the screw for the Thule clears the bumper a little for easier access? Or is there an extender that will allow for a quick disconnect of the bike rack? Thanks,

You will want to know the hitch capacity of your hitch you have installed on your 2004 Lexus GX470.

If you find the hitch you have installed has enough weight capacity, you may be able to install an extender in your hitch. An extender like part # HE06 may work for you. This extender is designed to fit 2 inch receivers, and adds an additional 7-3/8 inches from the hitch pin hole to the center of the hitch pin hole on the extension piece. Using an extender does decrease the hitch overall weight capacity by 50 percent. I have attached a product review video for this extender you can check out.
